St. Petersburg State Economic University, established in 2012 as a result of the merger of the leading universities of St. Petersburg (FINEC, INZHECON and GUSE), is one of the largest universities in Russia and the leader of economic education. The new unified university preserves scientific schools, innovative training courses, advanced teaching technologies, educational and scientific potential, as well as the best traditions of Soviet and Russian education.

Today, 13,907 students study at the Economic University, more than 600 graduate and doctoral students, 928 foreign students, which provides the institution with 6th place in Russia for a foreign contingent. The university has 10 branches, 15 academic buildings, 11 faculties and 66 departments. There are 2 624 employees working at SPbGUU, including 1,172 faculty members.
